Sealaska is attending the Alaska Federation of Natives annual convention in Fairbanks on October 21-23. Tribal member shareholders will have access to forms such as direct deposit and change of address. Don’t forget to sign up for the door prizes!
Tim Gilbert relocates to Oregon for new position
Sealaska tribal member shareholder Tim Gilbert recently accepted the position of chief executive officer of the Yellowhawk Tribal Health Center (YTHC) located in Mission, Oregon. The YTHC serves the health needs of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation.
Previously, Gilbert worked with the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium in Anchorage for 10 years. “I’m very excited to join Yellowhawk Tribal Health Center,” said Gilbert. “My experience at ANTHC was valuable and it was time for me to advance my career.”
Gilbert received his master’s degree from the University of California at Berkley, and his undergraduate education was at the University of Utah. “I received financial support in part from Sealaska Heritage Institute and Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska,” said Gilbert. “I will always be grateful for this support.”
Gilbert’s mother is Tsimshian Killerwhale and his father is Inupiaq. He is married to Alisa and they have two children.

Sealaska tribal member shareholders Larry McNeil and Da-ka-xeen Mehner will be featured in an exhibit at the C.N. Gorman Museum in Davis, California. McNeil and Mehner created new works that explore ideas that inform our times, from their ancestral and personal histories to global climate change. Both artists use photography at the core of their art alongside lithography. Learn more about the exhibit
